Better Recovery, Better Sleep, Better Performance!

In the early stages of developing ablespine, we quickly realized it was capable of more than what we had initially thought. We wanted to create something that would improve posture, increase mobility and reduce back pain. After trialling early prototypes with practitioners and athletes, we observed its ability to improve posture, chest expansion, breathing and its surprising effects on the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) with recovery.

Your (ANS) runs all the involuntary systems of the body like your heart rate, blood pressure, digestion, respiration and body temperature. There are 2 branches of the (ANS) the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system. Our sympathetic nervous system fires the adrenalin-fuelled ‘fight or flight’ system that gets activated by any type of stress, whether emotional or physical. Whereas your parasympathetic nervous system is your ‘rest and digest’ system that controls relaxation, comfort and recovery.

So, if you’re getting home after a hectic day at work, or an intense trip to the gym, laying on Ablespine stimulates your vagus nerve which triggers your parasympathetic nervous system. Within the first 4 minutes you will notice a shift in your respiration, heart rate and a relaxation of your postural muscle tone. Getting your (ANS) into a parasympathetic state prepares your body for better recovery, better sleep and better performance.
